XRP bucks trend as crypto assets experience fourth straight week of outflows

Image
Solana slid into the outflow column this week as Bitcoin’s outflows streak continued. Cryptocurrency asset outflows for the week of Sep. 3 through 9 totalled $59.3 million, bringing the current run to $249 million over four consecutive weeks.  Bitcoin experienced the bulk of activity last week, with its $68.9 million in outflows offset by Short Bitcoin inflows in the amount of $15.2 million and $0.7 million from XRP. According to CoinShares, regulatory and financial markets insecurity are to blame for the streak: “We believe continued worries over regulation of the asset class and recent dollar strength are the most likely reasons for this. Trading volumes also dropped significantly, by 73% in comparison to the prior week to just $754 million for the week.” Last week also brought an end to Solana’s recent run. Can PEPE make a comeback? Traders, analysts and Pepe maxis weigh in

Cointelegraph also spoke to developers purportedly behind a new PEPE token spin-off, who claim the new one is everything "the old Pepe token should have been." The biggest new memecoin of 2023, Pepe (PEPE) suffered one of the worst possible fates that can befall a new crypto asset; a partial rug pull — after its anonymous developers abruptly sold nearly $16 million worth of the token on Aug. 24.  The official Pepe X (formerly known as Twitter) account explained the drop was due to “three ex-team members” going behind their back and selling the tokens without their knowledge — a move that saw the price of Pepe plummet as much as 26% in the days following, without much respite.  an announcement to the $PEPE community: Yesterday on August 24th, 2023, a series of unexpected transactions took place from the $PEPE multisig CEX Wallet in which ~16 Trillion $PEPE tokens (worth roughly $15m USD) were transferred to various crypto exchanges (OKX, Binance,… pic.twitter.com/iZmXV1TAvw —...

Price analysis 7/7: BTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, ADA, DOGE, SOL, LTC, MATIC, DOT

Image
Bitcoin and select altcoins are finding buyers at lower levels, indicating a pick-up in positive sentiment. Bitcoin is still struggling to stay above $31,000. While a tight consolidation near the overhead resistance is a positive sign, the failure to rise above it may result in short-term liquidations. However, a shallow pullback should not be considered a trend change because, many times, the bulls take a step back to regroup and launch another attack at the resistance. If the barrier is overcome, the positive momentum picks up. Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao said in an “ask me anything” session on Twitter that Bitcoin (BTC) could witness a bull year after its halving in 2024. CZ added that BlackRock’s foray into cryptocurrencies will be “hugely beneficial” for the industry. Daily cryptocurrency market performance. Starknet’s Quantum Leap hits testnet with TPS reaching ‘triple figures’

Image
Starknet's latest upgrade will scale the ZK rollup's throughput by 50X or more. But capacity is very different to real world usage. Starknet’s Quantum Leap upgrade has been deployed on testnet , with the Ethereum layer-2 scaling protocol claiming it's capable of processing "hundreds of transactions per second." If achieved, it would be at least a 50X improvement from its current throughput, thanks to the Version 12 upgrade harmonizing how the sequencer's code interacts with the Cairo programming language. A Starknet fact sheet states that the "time to inclusion" after the upgrade goes live on mainnet "will be under 15 seconds" meaning DApps will be able to confirm transactions on-chain within seconds. Co-founder Uri Kolodny was a little more circumspect in an interview with Cointelegraph, stating that the upgrade has hit " triple figures " during testing so far. If this throughput is mirrored in real-world usage — and high TPS ...
